Diversity in the media is the latest project initiated and designed by Leadership Foundation. A response the increasing power of the media and need for focus on the quantitative and qualitative representation of immigrants by the media. This project will be implemented in collaboration with the Norwegian Center against Racism, The Media Diversity Insistitute (London), The Council of Europe (France)and CULCOM (Cultural Complexity in the new Norway), UTROP (immigrant newspaper in Norway), Oslo Municipality and The Equality and Anti-discrimination Ombud in Norway.

The target group will be policy makers, NGO's and producers, presenters, journalists and advertising agencies. The aim is to foster best practice sharing, networking, development of training, best practices and toolkits to impact media representation of immigrants.

Diversity in the Media will be a series of events:

• March 30th - round table discussion and reception with policy makers, NGO's and media representatives (INVITE ONLY)

• March 31st - half day kick-off seminar in Oslo  - see for program (OPEN)

• FALL 2009 - Seminar in Oslo - t.b.d. 

Diversity in the Media will develop a portfolio of services:

• Training programs, networks and toolkits will be designed, developed and dispersed.
